Post this on Your Website - Annual Credit Report Link

Every real estate agent / associate should have this link on their website - in order to combat the bate and switch advertisement by the credit reporting agencies - and help your clients obtain and monitor their report without using a credit card.

Edited after initial post: You are not required to provide credit counseling services merely because you provide the link to your custormers. I highly recommend you refer you clients to a HUD certified mortgage counselor, usually associated with a non profit community based organization.

Thanks Eliud for pointing out a simple, but very needed item every Realtor and mortgage broker can 'give' to potential clients. It's all about educating the public.

This is all true. However, does the client know what to do with the report? I would say that this is inportant. That is where the Brokers come in and help. Royal..

Eliud, it is good that you post this. Just recently I got a credit report from FreeCreditReport.com and it is very tricky. The first 30 days are free and then they make it very hard for you to figure out how to cancel it. I googled it and there were literally thousands of blogs and forums talking about how misleading they are. I finally found the number and was hit by there hard sales tactics call center trying to convince me that I should pay the monthly fee to keep it. From what I read, the link you post here is much better. People need to know about this.

Brian,

I have been monitoring this website - and I have found that they are making it difficult to find the button that say "No, thanks, I want the free service" which could have some customers paying for a report that is free. So I also warn my contacts to make sure to search the pages to make sure they are clicking on the free links and not on their advertisement for credit scores for $5.00 because then they continue to sell them services they don't need.
